House Mouse

Classification of service: covered under General Pest Control for residential

Also known as a field mouse.

They are curious by nature and approach things in their environment more quickly.

Female produces 4-7 pups per litter with a gestation of just 19 days. She can birth 8 liters in her life time. A litter can be born every 28 days.

New mice are mature at 5-8 weeks.

They usually stay within 10-30 feet of their nest.

Excellent swimmers.

Norway Rat

Classification of service: covered under General Pest Control for residential

Also known as a House rate, Warf rat, sewer rat or water rat.

Body characteristics look like a muscle car from the 60’s --- lifted in the back and lower in the front.

Small ears and blunt nose. Tail is shorter than head and body combined.

They are nocturnal and do not like populated areas.

They are neophobic (fear of anything new in their environment).

They usually stay within 50-150 feet of their nest and enter structures from the ground.

They can be 13 to 18 inches long (nose to tail).

Gestation period about 20 days. Litters are 4-8. Life span about one year.

Excellent swimmer.

Roof Rat

Classification of service: covered under General pest control for residential (unless property if severely infest upon initial service at which time additional services might be incurred).

Smaller than it’s Norway brother but its tail is longer.

Their bodies are long and sleeker.

They will travel up to 300 feet from their nest.

More noephobic than the Norway rat. Traps and bait boxes take longer because they are suspicious of them when added to their area.

They enter building vertically through utility lines, trees, fences, etc.

Gestation period about 20 days. Litters are 4-8. Life span about one year.

Excellent swimmers.
